Secure Your Info With PasswordWallet

Here’s a nifty little shareware program that’s perfect for storing all your usernames and passwords. It’s called PasswordWallet. It’s better than Apple’s keychain for a couple of reason. 1) It has a very easy export function incase you need to print your information out or save it for retrieval on a computer that doesn’t have PasswordWallet. 2) You don’t have to switch users on your computer to keep other from accessing certain password protected areas that are saved in Key Chain.
Here are some other features:
- Can save URLs with your passwords and launch your default browser for you.
- Copies your password to the clipboard and clears it automatically after you paste.
- One “master” password unlocks all of your other passwords.
- Organize all of your passwords into unlimited categories.

This is easily accomplished in Keychain Access by creating a new keychain and associating it with your account. The new keychain can be given a different password and its automatic locking settings can be changed separately from your other keychains. I use this feature to separate my general passwords from “online shopping” site passwords that may have access to credit card data or the like.
