TimeLog is also cool and uses iCal. It's used to log your work on various projects. A freelancer's delight.

One good thing about the upcoming Tiger X.4 release is that birthdays will automatically be synced between iCal and Address Book. About time!

I would like to be able to search within an event. I can do this on my Palm but not in iCal. It just searches the titles.

I have found ICal invaluable to run my small business.

The most life changeing feature is the calendar sharing feature especially if you want to host calendars online for cients and such. The alarms are fantastic but they pale in comparison with Bluetooth sync of appointments and Address Book contacts

Another thing that you may want to try is iCalendar PHP, it syncs your calendars to your online calendar for anybody to view, kind of like .Mac only better.

My wish for iCal is very simple. I would like to be able to Option drag to copy an event. This would make it so much easier and it would fit in with the rest of the Mac experience.

One more - I sometimes set an alarm for my children. For example, if they are allowed 30 minutes or one hour on the computer then I write a simple Applescript to speak out loud the text "Time to shut off the computer and start your homework." or something similar.
I then set this to execute at the required time.

The alarms are definitely the best thing about iCal. For important events I email myself and alarm a day ahead and then pop up a text alarm 15 minutes in advance. I use .Mac and OS X Mail so this is easy. However, if you search around there may be ways to make this work with other email systems.

I wrote a very simple script saved as an application that plays a specific playlist in iTunes. I set an alarm to run that at a given time and that is my alarm clock. I start off with something quiet and beautiful and proceed to louder, more raucous songs.

what I would really like would be for iCal to support Jpegs. as in when the birthday field is filled up in Address book, the person's picture is featured somewhere in day box of iCal.

Another feature would be to have options for calenders to be tied to one timezone while others are on another timezone. I am not sure if this is already possible, but there should be some indication on the calender if that is already possible.

While iCal with isynch integration with my bluetooth phone (Nokia 6600) has changed my life and made it much more organized, I am surprised that iCal is not better integrated with Address book. For example, I haven't found a way to quickly pull up a phone number of a person I scheduled a meeting with within iCal. You can enter the the names (validated against address book) in the meta data, but beyond that you have to go manually search address book for the individuals contact info. It would be nice if iCal simply pulled the information for you.
