The sound out of the headphone jack is terrible and the guitar input is permanently set on a very cheesy sounding distortion. If they cleaned up the audio that is mixed through the headphone out and kept the guitar input clean, then it would be a lot more usable. At least have the distortion defeatable. Although, the idea is great and was just what I was looking for for learning songs it works in a pinch if you roll off the volume on the guitar. I normally use my Powerbook input and Garage Band to play along with iTunes but this thing is a lot more convenient. I will be waiting for an improved model. I bought it but it needs improvement.

For $30, it's a fabulous device. Playing along with iPod tunes is just plain cool. I haven't tried it yet (I had to leave town the day after mine came), but I suppose you could also use it without music playing, making it and your iPod a hip-top personal amp?
