Wikipedia on your iPod

If you’ve ever wished you had the wikipedia definition of ‘folksonomy’ or ‘web 2.0′ while out and about, now you can. Check out the wikipedia on your ipod. I haven’t tried it out myself just yet, but it looks as if you can even search entries – using the scroll wheel to select letters to spell the word or term you’re looking for.

The capability is based on some of the ipodLinux system hacks that are out there. But it looks like when you turn your iPod on, you can choose to ‘boot’ into the music mode, or wikipedia mode. Interesting.

Seems a bit tedious to me, but if you’re absolutely starved for information on the go, here’s a nice option to have.
