I bought mine a couple months after they came out with battery numbers A1022 and since I've had it, I've always had to use it with a desk fan blowing into it because it just gets so stinking hot. I really don't get why Apple doesn't simply replace all the batteries for people who bought G4's anyways considering that they've had 2 exchanges already. It's obvious the design has flaws in terms of heat retention but the fact that these older battery designs seem to have an achillies' heel with heat as well, you would think that Apple would try to be safe by simply replacing all older batteries with hopefully more efficient and hopefully less heat generating ones.
