My Griffin iTrip Auto killed my iPod - it was working fine for about 2 years but for some reason it appears to have sent too much charge to my iPod now and killed the battery. It wasn't connected for a long continuous time - I just hopped in the car, plugged it in to the lighter and then the iPod as normal and that was the end of the iPod. Hopefully the iPod is covered by warranty but I have two concerns - one being that the iPod doesn't have some sort of protection built in to prevent such things happening and two how the iTrip could do this at all. Anyone else have any similar experiences?

I haveto turn the volume up on my FM radio in the car to maxiumum and then I get background noise. Even at maximum, it's not loud enough when driving. I'd prefer not to leave the buds in.

The itrip is more frustrating than not in a busy city. It seems that most all of the FM frequencies are taken, and the few that have "static" tune in to something or another on and off, creating lots of interuption when listening. I actually think the cassette tape "adaptor" worked great, that is until my tape deck broke.

With the addition of my Itrip auto I have noticed my stereo frequently changing stations without cause or handling by an opperator, it is a new car, I was chalking it up to something weird when i put the itrip auto in my girlfriends car and her stereo seemed to feeze up and you were unable to change stations on the actual radio, Has anyone else had a problem similar do you think i should contact GRIFFIN directly just want some advice, thanks for any help PEACE SAM G>

@ Brian - I would have taken/sent that back to the store, without a doubt. Griffin stuff is fairly good quality.

@ Clark... riiiight. Remind me not to drive around Metropolis anytime soon...

Don't waste your money. FM transmitters are lousy with iPods. Just put your buds in and drive if you can't afford a direct connect solution.
