It wasn't connected for a long continuous time - I just hopped in the car, plugged it in to the lighter and then the iPod as normal and that was the end of the iPod. Hopefully the iPod is covered by warranty but I have two concerns - one being that the iPod doesn't have some sort of protection built in to prevent such things happening and two how the iTrip could do this at all. Anyone else have any similar experiences? It seems that most all of the FM frequencies are taken, and the few that have "static" tune in to something or another on and off, creating lots of interuption when listening.
