this article is crap.
apple is light-years ahead.
Windows is a legacy product.
Windows has 650 different versions: just do the following count
8 versions in 99 languages = 792 different packages
8 modified versions for the European Union in 25 languages = 200 packages
3 modified versions for Korea = 3 packages
2 modifiied versions for China
TOTAL = 792 + 200 + 3 + 2 = 997 different products.

Imagine dealing with that... almost 1000 packages having to be upgraded, pached, etc.

On the other side of the galaxy, ligh-years ahead, Apple stands with one package for all languages. This is modern. Windows is legacy.

so, this article is lame and was written without any knowledge.

Mac is doing fine in the business side? That is laughable. Where do you work? the mac store? I am a professional consultant and I can tell you that only the art/marketing departments in all the companies I worked for use macs. You have been bit by the Apple marketing machine. You didn't even know it. Btw, you cant play any good games on a mac.

Did you seriously just say the words "Office System" and "iWork" in the same sentence? Credibility shot.

Let us know when Apple has more than 2% marketshare, or any business presence whatsoever, then they'll be taken seriously.

Wow, yeah, I've been an Apple convert the past year and proud to call myself that. But, this post takes the cake. This makes me embarrassed to call myself an Apple fan now.

I really wish you guys would have been a bit more professional about it.

Gee, you guys!
Can't you give this micro&soft (glad mine isn't) bashing a break?
I get sooo tired!

Vista DOES have a WoW factor.
Gates was just explaining the ability to play certain games that had not been locked out by Vista's new DRM.
Why do you insist on turning this into unjustified criticism?
Get a life you jealous Apple fanboys!

Office 2007 is the real star of this release.
That said, the new Office for the Mac is not too shabby either.

Still, I cannot keep from smirking when I see those 'The Wow begins now' signs at Fry's and CompUSA. Yeah, "wow, Apple did this 2 years ago...it took them how long? Wow."

Well I wonder.

Bill Gates spent a lot of time spouting LIES about how Vista is the first OS with parental controls.

Also he kept telling everyone that it had a WOW factor.

Now forgive me if I am wrong but surely if it DID have the wow factor you wouldn't need the boss of the company to TELL you that it had.

Just my 2 cents...

The thing is, after paying for Vista, Microsoft still owns it, and can hobble your OS - and computer on a whim. Read the EULA - Vista is DRM'ed to death.

I hate Microsoft with a passion. However, you guys need to realize you're not going to see huge lines for Vista because it's EVERYWHERE. If Best Buy, Staples, CompUSA, Office Depot, and the Hot Dog vendor on the corner carried Mac OS X like they do Windows products, you wouldn't see huge lines either.

Anyhow, I think Microsoft should be sued by Apple for stealing their OS (again). Lord knows enough people sue Apple.

Well... to be fair.... Office 2007 is REALLY nice, and once a person gets used to the UI changes it is considerably better than previous versions.

As for pages.. look, I'd love to see Apple create a decent word processor - easy to use, good at what it does....

Pages, at least now, is not it. It can do lots of pretty things, but when I want to write a paper - I open up Parallels and use Word 2007. it's the first time I can ever remember thinking about a Microsoft product that "this is great to work with.."

Well, except Onenote... which is amazing.

But yeah, otherwise... silly Microsoft.

After watching the "keynote" presented by Bill Gates describing all the "great" features of Vista, I couldn't think anything but: I'd love to see the "WOW" faces of Microsoft's Board of Directors while Steve Jobs presents Leopard on March.
That will prove that OS X is 2 or 3 years ahead the "WOW" of Vista.
