Carbon Copy Cloner 3 beta available

Written on February 19, 2007 by Eddie Hargreaves and 2 people have commented

Mike Bombich has released Carbon Copy Cloner 3.0 beta 4 for public testing. New features include:

  • Support for backing up across the network
  • Ability to drill down into folders to select exactly what gets copied and what doesn’t
  • Ability to stop the clone and pick up where a previously aborted backup task left off
  • More responsive interface
  • Advanced scheduling capabilities

This shareware application, the first to give OS X users a method of creating a bootable clone of their startup drive, was last updated in October 2003.

See http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html for details, including
documentation and a download link. Feedback is requested at the CCC v.3 forum.

I am still a SuperDuper! guy myself. I don’t think I could ever move away from it now; it’s my favorite OS X app of all time. That said, CCC is looking much more appealing… Still… Falling short for me.
