Adobe confirms March 27 CS3 announcement

Written on March 05, 2007 by Eddie Hargreaves and 3 people have commented

Adobe was secretly planning to announce the release date and features of Creative Suite 3 at a special event on March 27. But that information got loose and rather than deny it, Adobe has chosen to confirm the announce date publicly.

A post at the Adobe PR team’s new blog says

The wait is nearly over! We can now confirm that Adobe Creative Suite 3 will be announced March 27, 2007. The company is celebrating the launch at an event in New York City that will be webcast live at 3:30pm ET. During the webcast, Adobe will reveal the features and suite configurations that make this the largest software release in Adobe’s 25 year history.

Details on how to view the webcast will be available on Adobe.com later this week.

Specifically emphasized is that although Adobe is announcing CS3 on March 27, it will not ship until later in Spring 2007.

I saw this earlier today and fixated on the “not shipping until later in Spring 2007″ part. So does that mean.. April, May? I guess they’re waiting until Leopard comes out.

It’s the pre announcement to announce the announcement. Lovely.
