300 made with Apple tools

With a couple little children (and another on the way!) I don’t get out to many movies. But this year if I only see 300 I think I’ll be satisfied. It looks just killer (no pun intended on the graphic nature of the picture), and I can’t wait to see it in all its stylized glory.
Turns out - guess I should’ve figured - that of the several editing and effects firms working on the film, the preferred software was Final Cut Pro (though Avid was also used, and more extensively). Also used was Shake, for 2D effects, and Quicktime HD for the Trailers. Not to mention a gaggle of G5’s (what, no Macs Pro??) to process all that gore. Cool.
Now I just hope I can get to the local Imax and see it as it needs to be seen…

#1 Jenny says:I saw it on Imax last night. I didn’t really enjoy the plot (my expectations were just way too high), but the cinematography was amazing! I love how they make the reds so vivid while keeping the rest of the scene so monotone(like Sin City).
Good movie, definitely see it on imax.
