This news has just led me to belive the Apple Inc. is actually a UI design company.
For a long time I though what Apple Inc is trying to be, and I came to the conclusion that this is whats best describe the new Apple. From the beginning of the Mac in 1984, UI was their thing, and every decade they take it further.

I know that Mercedes is getting their inCar heaxd unit (along with GPS) from Bose.
Bose has recently got out that in the market.

So i would agree with above ppl that it is fake.

That "news" is just as fake as the BMW press release on the iPhone where they stated they are [one of] the first car manufacturer to have iPhone support.

Clever marketing gag. Just enable Bluetooth and connect your iPhone to your car's hand-free set. Connect it using the iPod connector to listen to your music. Works in an Mercedes S class as well as in a Toyota Prius or a 3 series BMW. Surprise.

The story was denied by Mercedes Benz one day after Focus put it out. It seems some kind of journalist was on the hunt for hist big day.
It seems very unlikely, that Mercedes drops his old partner Becker on this, on the other side it's kinda unlikely that Apple does suchn an exclusive deal with Mercedes. What we see possible ist a cooperation between Apple and (Harman-)Becker getting the iPhone into Mercedes Cars.
