-I think for sure Apple will announce a bump up in storage for the iPhone, for sure. Say 10GB and a 20GB or maybe keep the iPhone to one model and announce a 16GB version.
-The Flash based MacBook will probably be announced.
-Little increases to the existing MacBook Line, like a big bump in HDD space, and LED lighting. A little increase in processor power.
-Maybe a revamped keyboard for MacBook Pro to incorporate the new keyboards.
-Apple movie rental service will be announced
-A revamp for AppleTV sounds about right
considering the introduction of movie rentals.
-Possibly announcing the 3G iPhone to come in June, I think that announcement will be delayed until the next keynote in September for the WWDC '08.

There must be a multitude of people involved in the 2008 Apple product line, planning, manufacturing, distribution, purchasing etc. etc. I can't imagine this all remaining a secret until Jobs finally hits the stage.

Somebody must know something other than these wild guesses being published on every self respecting Mac Blog.

More in the "wish" category than an actual prediction, but some time back Daniel Eran's Roughly Drafted blog made an excellent case for a new "XServe Mini" running a slimmed-down version of X Server and designed for home use (somewhat like MS's new Windows Server). Besides the obvious file backup and media serving functions, he speculated that it could serve as a digital PABX for telephony (both VoIP and, with added hardware, POTS). To which I would add: home automation.

I am always eager to watch Steve Jobs' Keynote Address, as it excite apple fans form all over the world. I can't wait for Apple's new Innovations this year especially with a very succesful 2007 for them. The new Intel iMac, the iPhone, the New iPod Line and the very much awaited Mac OS X Leopard were released this year and who knows what's in store for us this coming 2008. Personally, I would like to get my hands on an iPhone here in the Philippines and I am waiting with much patience. But, for a new apple product, I would definitely want a tablet notebook from apple running mac os x. It would be a great help especially to graphic artists like me. :)

I don't get it.

Why update the macbook? Its selling like hotcakes and it wasn't so long that it was the upgrade to the iBook. The MacBook Pro mind you is just a rebadged Powerbook with a camera and an IR for the remote. Surely this will be updated with a new keyboard (like the macbook and the new apple keyboards). Maybe a smaller form factor, and maybe the super small one to replace the old 12 inch Powerbook.

I think you are on the money with the screens - they need an update and will surely get one.

As for a 3G iPhone... why bother? I think apple will wait until they get another serious rival before they unleash any kind of new iPhone.

The Apple TV may get a storage bump and might get some other bits maybe.. i'm thinking a bluetooth adapter for the USB slot for that mighty small bluetooth keyboard? Maybe

So

-New line of Macbook Pros with a super small one too
- New displays - higher resolution maybe with camera and IR
- New apple TV software and storage for the movie downloads service
- No iPod or iPhone announcements
- Steve to retire

One more thing... Touch controls on new Macbook Pros - image zooming, slideshow, scrolling, panning etc.

I'm expecting to see something along the lines of a tablet computer which would be larger than the iphone but smaller than a laptop. It will allow you to take it with you around the house and view web pages, video, photos, email, etc., from anywhere in the house and will run for about 18 hours on battery power. This means it will charge while you're sleeping but be wireless the rest of the day.

I am personally waiting to see Steve Jobs announcing 3G iPhone with 16 or 32 GB of memory and GPS, but together with news about iPhone and iTunes Music Store availability in Poland.
In Poland with my friends we are betting for it.

Grammar lesson for the evening:

1. "In just a little over 2 weeks us Mac geeks..." should be "we mac geeks." the test is to say it to yourself without a lot of modifiers: In two weeks us get to have..." Sounds a bit like Thag the Caveman.

2. Bi-annual - is wrong on two counts: No such word and using the correct word, "biennial" means every two years. I'm sure you meant "semi-annual," which means twice a year (MWSF and WWDC).

3. it's = it is, it's not a possessive form of "it" any more than "hi's" or "her's" are possessive of him or her. Thus, above "Updated Displays - It’s been years..." has it right but later there's "A Sleeker Mac Pro - ... I know it needs room for it’s eleventy cooling fans..." Now write it as "need room for it is eleventy cooling fans..."

There will be a quiz at 11 tonight on The Grammar Channel...

I wish to see a iMac Touch with Leopard Touch, thats the future, BUT I'm pretty sure that's only a dream but instead we will see a really slim 12" MacBook Pro and maybe a upgraded AppleTV, and let's not forget the "one more thing...." but this one is a secret.

I thought you couldn't sell a device that hasn't been approved by the FCC. So how could you sell that day a 3G iPhone?

No touch nothing. Just a new silver MacBook, big deal.
Maybe some movie rentals and that's it.

I hope, really hope he doesn't talk about the friking phone for the entire keynote again. Fingers cross.

"Touchbook", similar to the ModBook (Axiotron) would be very nice, yet unlikely. Apple TV update is near definite, and slimmer 13.3" macbook is also very likely, given all the speculation. The only evidence going for the official "touchbook", or whatever you want to call it, would be a job listing noted on the Apple website-essentially a multitouch engineer to work with the "iPod and Mac divisions". This would certainly imply some sort of touch screen capabilities coming to the Mac line, but no other definitive evidence has been spotted. 3G iPhone...I have been waiting for it since the iPhone was announced. Despite issues voiced regarding loss of battery life with a 3G iPhone and limits in battery technology, I see no reason why a 3G iPhone announcement shouldn't be imminent. Early-release developed 3rd party apps would be great to see, as it would give an indication of the vast capabilities that the iPhone has not yet had unlocked, officially at least. *crossing fingers for all of the above!*

I predict:

1. New displays that look and feel like iMacs (with built in iSight/USB hub).
2. A new portable MacBook "Nano" - Gun metal aluminum. I concede that it will likely be "just a MacBook" in aluminum, but I can dream!
3. Apple TV with an optical drive and loads of storage. I don't think we will ever get a PVR (it would nerf the iTunes Store sales.)

My prediction is:
1. A brand new ultra-portable mac book
2. A new e-book reader/ internet device
3. A 3g/UMTS iPhone

The punch line is they are the same device.

I'm hoping the slim MacBook prediction is right. I've saved a lot of money just for it.

This is like a second Christmas!

A2DP bluetooth support for stereo. And that's why the SDK isn't available until after MacWorld.

I'd like to see an external keypad for the iPhone but I'm skeptical that such a thing would come from Apple.

Wildly speculative, but why not a touchscreen iMac?

More baseless speculation: Soundtracks on Demand that you can download in the movie theater after watching a movie.

Sure, why not some improvements to the Apple TV, seeing that Apple appears to be inking a deal with 20th Century Fox?

I predict an Apple branded external storage device designed to be used with Time Machine. I see them either going way basic with it so that it is just a USB 2 device or I see them making it a pretty decent NAS type device that may even be able to stream content to an Apple TV.
What I would love to see though is a new model of Mac to fill the void between the Mac Mini and Mac Pro. I don't want a lot. Mainly I would just like to see a system with specs similar to the iMac with room for a second internal 3.5 inch HDD and at least a single PCIe slot. I say sell it as cheaply as possible by leaving out the keyboard and mouse just like with the Mac Mini and they can even stick an Intel GPU on the motherboard as long as we have an open PCIe slot to stick something decent in. I miss the days when you could get an entry level PowerMac starting at around $1200 and you would have a pretty decent system with some nice upgradability options. I am not a fan of the iMac screens and their GPU's are a bit low end as always, but I can't afford a Mac Pro either.

Displays are a good idea, but I totally second the AppleTV comment.
Its like Apple just plopped it out there and then ignored it. I would buy one in a new york minute if it offered TV recording.

My predictions:
– iPhone apps out the wazoo
– Microsoft will get on stage to sing their support of Apple and their how-long-has-it-been update to Office.
– Steve will continue to amaze us with an apparent unending stash of black mock turtle necks

DeadParrot - That very well may be, however it seems like something more suited for the June Developer Conference. But given the expectations, that's not a bad guess.

I think Steve will demo a number of 3rd party iPhone apps, made by major developers using a pre-release version of the official SDK.
