Comments on: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

I have a MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card that has 256 MB of VRAM and yet when I play GHIII it is still kind of laggy, and choppy. I don’t get it, I have all of their “recommended system requirements” and I even play with all the bells and whistles turned off and at a low resolution. It kinda sucks, any suggestions?

Actually, the Xbox360 version uses the USB too; the other part’s jut a breakaway cable.

For what it is worth, I really appreciated this review of Guitar Hero III, as well as the first comment. I’ve been seriously considering whether I should purchase this game for my own Mac, but I’ve been on the fence. Maybe I still am undecided, but this was useful information for me. Quite honestly, I don’t understand Ghost’s comments above at all. I say to all of you at TAB, ignore people like Ghost, who seems to have nothing better to do than be critical. Keep writing about the things you find interesting. I think you’re on the right track and your work is much appreciated!

Ghost, I got your point. I was joking with you. Lighten up a bit. I’m well aware that our news coverage has been subpar at best lately (we’re working on it)…but just because we haven’t covered something more recent doesn’t mean we don’t do something like a product review.

You obviously missed the point of my post. This is TheAppleblog and there have been many other things happening in the world of Apple that are more current then GH3. For instance did you know that Apple just came out with the 802.11n Airport Express. Funny, I would have thought that would be your top article. Maybe you should take a look at MacRumors or TUAW and make sure you are up to date with what’s going on. Have a good one.

Wow! Did that just come out. No wait, it’s been out for like 4 months. Way to be on top of things. It is pretty disappointing to see 3 or 4 days go by with no new posts and then this is the best you can come up with. A new game for the Mac that has been out and talked about, for the last 4 months, by every other web blog in the world. Very impressive, Keep up the good work.

I have a 2.16 GHz MacBook with 2 gigs of RAM that just wasn’t enough for smooth gameplay on Guitar Hero 3. Even on the lowest video settings I still had tons of lag. It was so bad that I sold Guitar Hero on craigslist and bought a Wii with Guitar Hero instead. It’s much better on a Wii!
