Now Shipping: Delicious Library 2

Written on May 27, 2008 by Jethro Jones and 8 people have commented

Delicious Library It may be the most anticipated app of the year, and it is finally here. Delicious Library 2 catalogs all your stuff. I own Delicious Library 1 and use it to help catalog all my books. Wil Shipley, the developer, says that this will catalog even more than just your books, movies, and CDs. You can also catalog just about anything with a barcode on it, including tools, toys, software, gadgets, and apparel.

Version 2 boasts over 100 changes and can be purchased for $40 (requires Leopard).

Some version highlights include:

  • Play button on Apple remote launches file or URL associated with selected item.
  • Speech input of items.
  • Integration with iTunes.
  • One-click web publishing.

  1. #1 Galley says:

I was able to upgrade for $15, and so far I’m impressed.

  2. #2 Brendon says:

@Galley, how did you upgrade? I search around a little and didn’t see anything about a $15 upgrade option.

  3. #3 Brendon says:

Nevermind on the upgrade question, it’s in the “Delicious Licensor” under the app menu. Still curious though, my quoted upgrade cost is $20.

  4. #4 Jeremy says:

Yeah, it was just a $15 upgrade when he first put it out there, I think it was a day later he changed it back to $20 and tweeted that he “changed the prerelease price to the real upgrade price” or something along those lines, i got it for $15 the first day i posted about it, before the prerelease

  5. #5 Guillermo says:

I had DL1, but changed to DVDpedia. DL1 was painfully slow. Pretty, but very frustrating. With over 500 items in the DVD library, the scrolling, sorting and resizing was a pita. I hope the fix it.

  6. #6 Neil says:

I am not seeing an upgrade button in the Delicious Licensor. Do you get 2.0 if you “buy a new license” for $20. Not too clear and I don’t want another license for the previous version. Help! and thanks.

  7. #7 John says:

    @Neil

Open up the licensor and hit buy new license. It’ll give you the option to either buy a new license or upgrade. If you choose upgrade then put in your old license info and it’ll take you to the checkout and you’ll be on your way.

Let us know if this worked for you.

  8. #8 Rick says:

this is a rip off! I have the previous version of Delicious Library, paid $40. Now there is an upgrade for the full price of $40. And what happens on next upgrade? Another $40? Forget it!!!
You have been warned, do not get sucked in!
