My phone was defective. First call to Apple Saturday. Got an idea of what might be wrong. Tested Sunday. Second call to Apple Monday. Bad proximity switch we decided. Box came Tuesday. Returned Tuesday. New replacement arrived today (Thursday). No issues in restoring. I bought (or got free) 21 apps on Thursday before the launch and have since added 6 additional apps.

I'm surprised at the quality of the apps. My favorites are: MotionX-Poker - amazing dice shaking action and tons of replay value AcidSolitaire Collection - an excellent update to a game I enjoyed on the Palm for many years. Twitterrific - as good as the desktop app Last.fm - You can listen to radio based on your previous listening history through your Last.fm account. Unfortunately, it can't scrobble the tracks you play on your iPhone. I’ve spent nearly $40 in the App Store. I’m surprised at the quality of the apps.
My favorites are:
