Quick Tip: Print to PDF
Written on September 11, 2008 by Jenny Kortina and 6 people have commented
Printing to a PDF is a useful feature to have for saving receipts of online purchases or sending screenshots of webpages to friends (these aren’t the only useful times to print to PDF’s, but they are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head).
In OS X printing to a PDF is a as simple as:
- File > Print
- PDF > Save as PDF

#2 mike_drechsel says:This is a related tip that I picked up a little while back. I’m not at all affiliated with the source website, but it is a great tip that dovetails nicely with the tip mentioned above.

#3 Edgar Brown says:It is even better to use ‘Save PDF to Web receipts folder…’, or ‘Mail PDF…’ (both clearly visible in the menu BTW) for the two examples given here!!!
That menu can even be extended with Automator options for more complicated PDF handling (e.g., adding ‘confidential’ or ‘draft’ across the page).

#4 Bob says:Drop an alias of your favorite folder (receipts, tickets, taxes, etc.) or application (email, fax, papers, etc.) into the “library/PDF Services” folder. Now those choices will show up in your PDF menu. One click and my web receipts are properly filed.

#5 Philip Downer says:@ Bob - Great tip! I had no idea you could do this…
