Firefox 3.0 still slows down to a crawl. The memory leaks or whatever are a royal pain. When I open up maybe a half dozen tabs, it starts to slow down, and practically locks up. I use it on all 3 of my Macs, and hope they come up with a solution. I am running only a few apps like DownloadHelper and FireFTP as well as DownThenAll, but rarely use them.

I got the Intel Mac mini with a gig of RAM. Previously I'm running OS X 10.5.3 and I've been having a memory leak issue every time when running Firefox 3.0, which freeze up the whole system and had to hit the power button at the back to reboot.

Now I updated my system to OS X 10.5.5 and installed Firefox 3.0.3, and guess what? After launching Firefox, same thing happened. The system is still freeze..
I looked at Activity Monitor, first I had 3 quarters of free RAM, after launching Firefox 3 and starting to load any web page, the entire free RAM just disappears, thus, freezes the system.

I have also disabled ipv6 DNS look up, but this doesn't seem to fix it. Is there any work around this problem? Thx.

Updated both of my Macs last night and haven't had any big issues.

I had issues with the last version where having several (5+) tabs open would cause increased CPU usage, even where the tabs are without Flash or Java/Javascript elements. Last week having Gmail open with one other tab literally maxed out the CPU usage.

This update still doesn't fix one of my biggest 'stupid little issues' with Firefox: right clicking in Google Maps still doesn't bring up the Google Maps context menu, you still have to Ctrl-Click.

Everything works fine for me so far. But then again, I didn't notice any problems at all with the version before this one.

So far so good, but then it's only been five hours since updating it, but I found the previous version worked ok, better than Safari.
