Apple Releases OS X 10.6.2 Update
The second minor incremental update for OS X Snow Leopard was released today, and it contains the usual expected bug fixes. It is also is said to contain built-in support for Apple’s new Magic Mouse, and may or may not remove support for Intel Atom processors. The 10.6.2 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes for:
- an issue that might cause your system to logout unexpectedly
- a graphics distortion in Safari Top Sites
- Spotlight search results not showing Exchange contacts
- a problem that prevented authenticating as an administrative user
- issues when using NTFS and WebDAV file servers
- the reliability of menu extras
- an issue with the 4-finger swipe gesture
- an issue that causes Mail to quit unexpectedly when setting up an Exchange server
- Address Book becoming unresponsive when editing
- a problem adding images to contacts in Address Book
- an issue that prevented opening files downloaded from the Internet
- Safari plug-in reliability
- general reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, and iDisk
- an issue that caused data to be deleted when using a guest account

Funny how they throw that last one, “an issue that caused data to be deleted when using a guest account”, as an ‘oh, by the way…’

has anyone else’s iChat stopped working in this update? it was working fine i only updated because safari was just doing awful plugins crashing everywhere. and then iChat won’t fully open anymore.

Yea…so, now my Photoshop CS4 is suddenly running extremely slow after this update, it has minor freezes and “pinwheel” breaks every minute or so. A couple of reboots later, still doing the same thing. HELP!

I am also using Photoshop CS4 with the 10.6.2 update. Photoshop actually works faster. You might want to do a clear Snow Leopard update — a pain but well worth it.

I’m having major slowdown issues with Flash Player, Flex Builder, and Fireworks. Thinman, did you solve yoru problem with Photoshop?

Yah same here man my ps is still running like shit here to. Sliders jump instead of sliding it takes forever to even resize a picture I just bought this brand new 27 inch just for photoshop because I keep hearing there the best now I’m really starting to regret my switch someone please help

this update make my ichat crash when i try a video call or a share screen…whats going on with apple?

my whole system has slowed down significantly after this update. i can barely use firefox, entourage, or even TEXT EDIT. it takes 10 minutes to open firefox. i’m scared to open photoshop.
