The open thread closes at midnight PDT (UTC -0700). Be sure to get your questions in before then!
Although we at The Apple Blog like to hand down our knowledge and opinions on all things AAPL (sometimes a little too self-righteously, sure, but aren’t bloggers supposed to be snarky and provocative?), the real reason we’re here [...]

The Apple Blog wouldn’t exist in any form if we didn’t have all our fantastic readers. We’d now like to give back in a new way by giving away free stuff each month!
We obviously can’t know about every single thing going on in the world of Apple and that’s where sending in tips to us [...]
When The Apple Blog first launched 3 years ago we did not offer full-text RSS feeds. That decision wasn’t really based so much on wanting people to visit the site more, but rather we just didn’t realize people wanted full-text so badly. Within the first year the reader-feedback was strong enough that we began offering [...]
Just a quick reminder that our first monthly Game Showdown: Tetris is ending tonight around midnight!
You’ve still got time to win the $25 Amazon.com gift certificate!
Full details…
I’ve decided to start doing a monthly “Game Showdown” in our lovely community.
Each month I’ll pick a specific game and then everybody will have 7 days to play the game. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the 7 days will get a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com!
Get full details on this showdown [...]

The more screencasts we’ve posted here on The Apple Blog, the more the question seems to surface of how to get that feed directly. Well the powers that be (Josh) have got you covered. You can now get the screencast-only feed for TAB from this linky-thing here.
iTunes Store submission has also been made, [...]
We’re looking for another round of new writers for TAB. If you’ve got a love for all things Apple and an ever great love for writing about Apple, we’d like to chat with you.
A few things before you take the time to contact us:
You MUST have either a blog or have previous experience with writing [...]
Well we launched the brand-spankin’ new TAB this evening. The transition was relatively flawless…which is always a plus.
I’ll have a full writeup in the morning about new features and what not, so look for that.
In the meantime, if you notice any bugs/browser quirks/etc, please either post them here or contact us.
There is still quite a [...]
Just some quick TAB news here. Tonight we’ll be pushing the new version of TAB live.
We have a new design, new logo, and a few new features all ready to go.
The site will be down for a few hours while we push everything live and make some core changes to posts and what not.
The Apple Blog is at WWDC 2007 right now and will be doing our best to bring you live coverage here in this blog post.
Stay tuned….

I’m a couple of weeks away from launching the brand new TAB and would love to have some fresh eyes check it out and offer some suggestions/bug reports.
If you’re interested, just post here and I’ll PM you the details.
I’m really only looking for people who are willing to offer feedback and bug reports. If you [...]
Well our little giveaway has now come to an end.
It has been a ton of fun and it has been great getting too meet some of the “new folks” to the community!
Below you will find the list of winners…without a listing of prizes. “What?!?!,” you say? Well I started thinking about how randomly giving out [...]
Our huge TAB Giveaway will be ending in less than 24 hours!
It’s been a massive success with hundreds of new community members and thousands of new posts!
I wanted to post about how we’ll be choosing the winners this time around.
This time will be quite different than last time. Instead of making it first-come, first-serve we’ll [...]
