It's a good sign that you're getting the chimes, as this means the initial startup diagnostics have been passed. No chimes is usually an indication of a logic board failure.
More than likely you have damaged the hard drive, follow bbb's suggestion. Best case scenario, DiskWarrior can fix the drive. Worst case scenario you'll need to replace the drive, hope you have a backup.
