Robenson, I'm new to the iMac as well and am very sorry to hear that you had those awful service problems. I do understand the Mac is an awesome machine, however, I also note that the today's culture is not inclined to fix problems after purchasing a major computer device or even appliances now without the warranty. I believe that because many services are outsourced, the warranty is a way that the company doesn't have to pay for the outsourcing. We pay in purchasing the warranty. Not we obviously aren't paying the full cost of outsourcing but I do believe that the warranties pick the bulk of the cost for major companies, whether it is Apple or any other.
