As an investor in Apple, I must ask - Mr. Jobs, what were you thinking? Investors know that Apple is famous for earnings forecasts that "under promise & over deliver", but considering the state of our current financial markets - one would think a smart fellow like Jobs would tone down the "sandbagging" a little bit and put out estimates that are a little more true to form.

Even an "average joe" investor like me knows that news moves high profile stocks like Apple far more than company fundamentals. Apples downbeat forecast for Q2 (which only time will tell how true it turns out to be), lost us investors Billions of dollars today.

In my humble opinion, I feel Steve Jobs should take a good portion of the almost 15 billion in cash that Apple is sitting on and declare a one-time dividend for share holders. After all, it's share holders like me that buy the products that makes Apple $$$.

* My two-cents worth

Tis better to lower expectations and meet or beat them, then to fall short of expectations in the long run. Plus, liquidity adds more stability and value to the stock in the long run, especially in a down market, or the largely predicted recession ahead. Giving that money to the investors would not be a sound move for the future of Apple (or my stock).

At least, that's my two-cents worth.

Good point & well taken -

At this point, I would be happy to see Apple do a stock buy back, say 1-2 billion (any positive news would help!!). If they believe in the company - why not buy the stock at nearly $70 dollars down from it's high - I know I would be buying if I had any extra $$$ laying around!

Cheers
