Although I don't have an iPhone, I've heard good things about either of these inCase cases: Incase Protective Cover for iPhone (in a different colour of course) or Incase Slider Case for iPhone.
Hope you find a case that suits your needs!

I have had 3 cases, and my current is by far my favorite. It is by Seido, and is rubberized, and has a holster or non holster option. The rubberized coating is very durable, doesn't scratch up like the clear, and also, manages to slip right into pockets without "sticking" like the skins, if you aren't using the holster.
Of equal importance (to me), it looks really sharp, and looks like your phone came out of the box in this thing from Apple . . . it is that perfect of a fit. The holster option also has soft felt on its receiver side so as the iPhone goes into it, glass side in, it gets extra protection. The rubberized coating, while not hanging up in pockets, makes it easier to hold, and isn't slippery like the clear case options. Here is a link that, while you may not want to buy here, simply shows photos of in holster and out of holster, front and back. I really like this thing, and it's like having your iPhone in a black tux. Seidio Rubberized Case / Holster Combo for Apple iPhone at MobileCityOnline.com Happy shopping. ![]()

I'd recommend the IkonicEdge Super-Slim. This is one quality leather iphone pouch for 3G or iphone 2G that is without doubt the best I've seen or owned. Hand made and 100% genuine leather from New Zealand. I can't rate this one high enough. The thick leather smells rich and has a nice rustic look. They also ship worldwide for free.

(*)Speck Toughskin FTW!
It's awesome protective and it makes the phone easier to grip. Fantastic!

Seido has updated their case for the 3G. I have it now, and love it. You can get it with or without a matched, felt-lined holster. The case is perfectly conformal, making the phone essentially no larger. It is that cool rubberized material that is easy to grip, but doesn't cling as you slide it into a pocked (if you go without a holster). Very high quality in design, fit, material and function. They even have a stylish cut-out on back that perfectly frames the silver Apple logo. My highest recommendation. Check it out here
