Actually, for a long time I didn't know what it was. I remember seeing Belle de Jour and wondered what the Japanese client kept in his box, I thought I must have missed a bit of the plot, it was several years later that I realised it's one of the classic MacGuffins of cinema. I think I found out about the MacGuffin watching a documentary about Alfred Hitchcock.

Hey all,
I just went to that exhibition last week and spent waay too long in there. It was during the week so no school kids. What a trip down memory lane. I too was happy to see the old Apple II. It was my first computer as well studioprisoner, although I had the amber and black screen. Ahhh, the good old days. One thing which impressed me looking at that exhibition and playing the old 8 bit graphics games which I cut my gaming teeth on as a lad, was how well the game play stood up. Of course graphically they don't compare, but the good ones all had a "hook" which challenged you and made you want to play more. I was also very happy to see the arcade "Tron" game. I used to love that as a kid, although I was crap at it. Funnily, I played it, and my first game this time I did better than I ever did feeding all those coins into it back in the day. The exhibition is brilliant, although there were a couple of glaring omissions. Such as Battlezone, which really was an iconic arcade vector graphic game. Oh, and hi to the community here. This is my first post although I have been enjoying reading the Apple Blog for quite some time now. Cheers Bunyip. |

Welcome to the TAB forums, Bunyip! Hope you enjoy your stay!
I really hope an exhibition, or something similar, eventually comes to Canada. Looks like great fun playing all of those old games again!
