Personally, I won't be buying it, just like MacHeist. However, Heist's problem (for me) was that I owned most of the apps (except Cha-Ching) that I actually wanted. The problem with this deal is that I've only heard of 3 (Typinator, Hazel, and Parallels). Of those three, I have another app that does what Typinator does, don't really see a need for Hazel, and would rather VMWare Fusion.
With all of that pessimism aside, I think it's definitely a great deal for that many apps!

I wish it was loaded better because I am a total sucker for bundles. I have better alternatives for all of the software that I would have use for and have Parallels. So unfortunately I will be waiting around for another bundle to blow money on. And since I am not buying it I am annoyed by its longevity because I am not being offered my daily mups in the interim.
But it is a great package if you don't have but want Parallels; you get it for a discount bundled with a couple hundred dollars worth of independent software.

I already own Parallels, otherwise I'd buy it for that. The only other app I want is Hazel, but if I decide to buy it, I can just go give the developer $20 instead of wasting another $45 on the bundle.

I don't think I'll buy it. Parallels would be nice, I'd rather have a big discount on Parallels than all the other crap-o-la included. The biggest problem is that the apps are all over the place - what's the odds you'd (I'd) ever use them all. Or even a third of them. Or even more than Parallels and Hazel.

Not for me either. I will need Parallels in the future when I get my first Intel Mac, but I wouldn't really use the other software though. But thanks for posting the info @studioprisioner

Parallels is $80 so if you want it the bundle is worth it even though most of the other apps aren't useful. I already have parallels so the bundle isn't worth it for me.
EDIT: Coincidentally, there is a VMWare Fusion ad at the top of this page. ![]()

I currently own Parallels and VMWare Fusion and out of the two I'd definately recommend VMWare Fusion over Parallels.
I find Parallels sucks down too many resources especially when unloading and quitting the app, VMWare Fusion tends to release memory and resources better after running Windows XP from both. Seems strange since I have 6gb Ram on my Mac Pro QuadCore it shouldnt have that issue. I also noticed Parallels would jam up when I quit it and then needed to load it back up at some point again later, the icon would sit in the dock doing nothing and wouldnt force quit. VMWare have been out and at it for a lot longer than Parallels have too from what I heard. ![]() |
