Hey all,

So back to my Samsung T10. I want a free application that'll convert videos in either a WMA or MPEG-4 format for a 320x240 @ 30fps. Anyone?

Ahmad

MoviesForMyPod/PSP/Phone may possibly do the trick, I believe it supports Nokia, Motorola and other non-Apple devices, I'm not sure about Samsung though.

VisualHub would do it. By the way, you mean WMV and MPEG4, not WMA.

True, but sometimes you have to pay for the best. Some other apps will do it but not as fast and with a more cluttered UI. If you can sacrifice a few minutes every time you need to convert some videos to hunt for right options, free options will work fine.

Agreed, I'd personally pay the money and go with VisualHub, it's a very well designed little app.

What about the little brother of VisualHub, iSquint? It will convert pretty much any format to either H.264 or MPEG-4 and is free as well as easy to use. Since the iPod's screen is 320 x 240, that is perfect as well. Take a look here.

I'm not sure if iSquint will work. Since everything it converts is designed to go into iTunes, it may create .m4v which might not be compatible. VisualHub converts to WMV, which iSquint won't.

iSquint is always worth a try - if it doesn't work, he hasn't lost anything! And WMV is a really horrible format; I don't know why Microsoft keeps up with it. Even Quicktime is better for some things, like web streaming.
