Well. I'm picking up my quest for a multi-user project management solution again.
We have been so busy that we dropped finding a solution for awhile. I've been using Things to organize my projects, but without network support (they have it on the list for future possibilities) it doesn't work for us long term. What I need: 1. The ability to create simple project lists - even a simple "to-do" list would be alright. The ability to add notes would be nice. 2. Reminders/Notices - pop-up, growl, email, iCal it doesn't really matter as long as it reminds us in some way when want reminders. 3. Multi-User - we need to have a handful of people able to edit the items. I'm open to web apps, local network apps, OSX server, it just needs to work for all users. NOTE: This is where everything I have found falls short. Even sharing iCal calendars on OSX server won't allow editing on the shared end. 4. Simple - I don't want some bloated "all-in-one" client list, address book, time tracking, invoicing, back scratching, app that costs more than Adobe's Creative Suite. We'll pay, just not for 10 million more services than we need. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas.

Firstly I'd like to point out that you can edit others calendars as a delegate using Leopard Server and iCal. Just so as you know.
I'd say it would be worth looking at the online solutions however, since I am not aware of a truly good solution in the desktop applications department. Something like the 37signals.com suite may be useful. |

37signals.com is an amazing collection of services/apps but it's not what we want. We tried to implement it before and it just wasn't working for us, basecamp isn't simple enough and campfire is too simple. I do have a running list of "someday I'm going to..." with campfire.
Things is absolutely amazing, even at the early stage its at now. I am using Things for myself and that's part of the problem. Nothing else seems to measure up to Things - they have networking and mulituser capabilities on the "someday" list, I just hope someday is soon. We decided to give BusySync a try, it's not the greatest but we can collaborate on deadlines and to-do lists.
