I get this message when i try to install the Update.....am I doing something wrong...when it searches the source to install it, the message below pops up in "destination select" tab.


You cannot install Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.0.1 Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.


Thoughts?

Try repairing permissions. The Office '08 really screwed up permissions.

1) Open Disk Utility
2) Click the partition you want to repair permissions on from the left pane.
3) Click "Repair Disk Permissions" in the lower left of the window.

Note: In Leopard, repairing permissions can take roughly 30 minutes. In Tiger, it used to only take several minutes.
