So you get one unembedded Application to install on OS X, that's it. And if you decide to play along but hedge your bet with buts or ifs or the like so that you can choose more than one app, you are banished. (I'm in an ornery mood today...)

Final Cut Pro is the clear choice for me. Everything I use has acceptable alternatives with the exception of FCP.

I'd have to say Lightroom. Many of the other apps I use have much of the same functionality as apps included with OS X.

I guess NewsFire is the app that I use the most aside from the built in Apple apps. Mail.app RSS is just too poor for me to even think of using it and Safari RSS just isn't for me.

I actually think it would be iTunes for me. I use it for so much stuff, music and movies management. Playing music over my AirPort Express via AirTunes etc. Then of course there is iPod sync. For music, calendars and contacts. It means I have nearly all my data at my finger tips (even if it is read only!).

This comes with OS X though Do you have another app that doesn't come with OS X?

I use NewsFire more than any other 3rd party app.

MacTheRipper, one app I don't think Apple would ever attempt to write.

So you aren't running Leopard?

And yeah, iTunes is embedded, doesn't count.

As for personal or pro, its up to you, you only get one app on your OS X machine.

You like haw I totally addressed those completely out of order
