Hey everyone,
I've wanted to perform a seemingly simple task with images that nothing I've tried seems to include. What I would like to do is simply select a number of pixels, a task that is simple in Photoshop, which happens to be a very complex app. Unfortunately, since my PC is not available right now (motherboard failure), I don't have access to Photoshop and probably won't for at least 2 more weeks. So far, I've tried apps ranging from Preview to Pixelmator, all with no success. And I thought that selecting a certain amount of pixels was a simple task! Any help you guys could provide would be appreciated!

I'm sure The GIMP could do it. Give it a try.

Hmm... I never thought of trying the GIMP. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
Ideally, I'd like a really simple app (much like Skitch or ImageWell) that could do this, but if it's not available, I know I can just go to the GIMP.
