I've been getting that recently also. I restarted Mail and then the emails send. Its happened a good few times this past 2 weeks. Any ideas guys? Is it a server problem on the .mac side?

Try going into the preferences and setting your SMTP port to 587.

I'm thinking it may be related to updating .Mac to be ready for the MobileMe launch. I'd suggest going BBB's route and seeing what happens.
