Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to make a short cut keys whilst I'm running OSX Leopard to switch to windows installed with boot camp.

As I do it now, I need to go into preferences, start disc, choose start up disc as windows. So I then go into the short cut keys try to create a new short cut, but cant came further than choosing preferences.

Can someone guide me?

Thanks in advance
Robenson

Just restart and hold the option key as the machine starts. You'll be able to choose OS X or Windows.

Yes I know of this option. In Windows, however, you have a gray diamond where you can click "restart with Mac OS". I would like to create a short cut in Mac OS for "Restart with Windows"

How can I do this?

There's really no way to do this. In both cases, you have to choose one as a permanent option, there is no built in way to temporarily boot to Windows but keep OS X the default other than the option key. Theoretically it's possible that a 3rd party may have developed some software that manages to do it via a workaround, so I'll keep my eyes open.

Or you could use an application like VMWare Fusion or Parallels to allow you to use Windows in Mac OS X without having to restart your Mac.

I use the following script:
Quote:
do shell script "bless -device /dev/disk0s3 -legacy -setBoot -nextonly" with administrator privileges
do shell script "shutdown -r now" with administrator privileges
Which will restart your computer in Windows.
I also use QuickSilver, where I created a trigger to run the script. Now all I have to do is hold Command + R for 2 seconds within any application and the computer will restart.

Also see. [Boot Into Windows With Quicksilver | Macinstruct]
