What FTP client do you people recommend? Hopefully free, because I only need it to upload my webpage with pictures of my daughter and my family.
Oh and I want it to have a gui, uploading pictures using ftp in terminal is a pain when it's a lot of files.

For free options there's Cyberduck. If that works for you, great. If you need something more robust and more feature-rich there's Transmit which is probably the most popular Mac FTP client.

I also recommend cyberduck for a free (as in both free of cost and open source) and also pretty easy to use graphical FTP client. I do the Norwegian translations for it

Another vote for Cyberduck. It is well made and regularly updated (2.7.2 was released two weeks ago). I have never found anything that can beat it for free. As Mark pointed out, Transmit is the most popular mac FTP client and I have heard good things about it, but $30 for something that I can get done cleanly for free is more than I am willing to spend.

I don't think Transmit is any better than Cyberduck for my purposes, which is to say most anybody's FTP purposes.

Cyberduck is quite fully functional and updated regularly. Highly recommended.

Best,

Brian

I'll have to mirror everyone else and say that as for free, Cyberduck is the better choice. I use Transmit because it was well worth the money for me and my daily use of the app.

I use two: transmit and yummy ftp. transmit is the client i use most of the time. yummy ftp has very fast transfer speeds, so i use it for big files. unless you are frequently moving very large files via ftp, i recommend transmit, or cyberduck if you don't want to pay for an ftp client.

Another vote for Cyberduck here, but if you're student you can get a free license to Fetch as well.

I've tried out a bagillion different FTP apps and ultimately decided on Transmit. It's just a solid app that gets the job done.

While we're at it, I'd suggest taking a gander at our FTP Client Throwdown.
