Hey everyone,
I'm working on a document based cocoa application that can save files. I was noticing that just about every document icon in os x has the same look with the document, application icon in the middle, and the right corner folded over. I was just wonder if there is some kind of generic document file image that people use so that they can get the same basic shape, or do people just create one from scratch and try to make it look as close as possible? I have found iPhone icon quick start kits, but I cannot find anything for desktop icon's. Any thoughts? I included a screenshot of the generic icon so you can see what I'm talking about. |

It's a not-so-well-kept secret that Mac developers routinely use Apple's icons in their own applications. Apple has always condoned it, probably for the sake of consistency, and even recently provided a whole bunch of them for use in Leopard's Interface Builder.
