My wife and I have pretty much sworn to never go to see a new release movie since it's like $20 for us to go, but we've recently rented:

The DaVinci Code
You, Me, and Dupree
Mission: Impossible III

...all from Redbox of course.

Goal! was really awesome. out on dvd now.

The kids wanted to see Happy Feet. I went into it not knowing a thing about it, other than the title sounded pretty lame. It actually wasn't too bad. Would I pay $50 (what it cost for my family of 4 to see it in the theater with kids drinks and a medium popcorn) to see it again. no, but it's definitely worth a dvd rental.

The two most recent movie's I've seen (new releases) were pretty much my favourites. For those of you who don't like going to the theater, you won't be seeing these for a while.

They were:
-The Prestige
-007: Casino Royale

Both come highly recommended from me. I'm a really big fan of Bond too (I actually had a marathon before Casino Royale came out, right from the beginning) and I like to say that the new guy is a really good choice for the part.

Casino Royale was really good. Don't bring little kids too it though. Some blood, and one torture scene are not for children.

Movies I liked...

I thought Akeelah and the Bee was a good family flick. Much more rewarding than watching Bionicles 3 or something. Superman Returns was alright.

Movies I've watched recently...

Mission Impossible 3
The da Vinci Code
Superman Returns
RV
Failture to Launch
Curious George
Monster House
Family Stone
March of the Penguins

Movies I'm going to watch...

I just rented Goal! Looking forward to watching that. I'm going to pick up Pirates this week (pre-ordered to get $5 off Cars).

The moment I saw that, I was instantly excited. One of my favourite movies of all times is Sin City, which as every fan knows, is also by Frank Miller. Although the style in 300 is definitely very different from Sin City, the plot looks incredible. Thats one I'm going to have to see.

Casino Royale is definitely worth watching - fully recommended by the resident 007 fan!

Last movie I saw was The Butterfly Effect 2 which was OK. I sort of burned myself out on DVD's. The black market in China is rife with cheap DVD's. I actually burned out my DVD player and my roommates burned out shortly after so I'm stuck watching DVD's on my Powerbook. But honestly after watching that many DVD's I'm just not that interested anymore
