Today was a great day for rugby. First, through a valiant Italian effort, Wales crushed home a massive 5 try victory and they remain in the running for the Grand Slam.

Next, Ireland also managed a great 5 try win which showed more of their previous form. This could lead to be a team to be reckoned with, and a big test for England coming up soon.

Finally, England out-muscled France in their best 80 minutes in the tournament to date. Starting with Noon's thumping hit leading to a rushed try, England looked good to start. Wilkinson slammed home a fantastic drop-goal making him the top drop-goal scorer of all time. Things tightened up, and France had possession, but the England forwards were in complete control. Scrumming, heroically defending, rucking and mauling were all England, and Noon & Croft made sure France were physically hurting. Then, after a poor penalty was given away, England pushed hard for the French try line. Wigglesworth was literally grabbing his forwards by the neck and shoving them into better positions, really taking control before finally going alone and scoring the hammer-blow. England were so crushingly dominant that the match actually finished early!

Perhaps I am still a little high from the days events... just wondered if anyone else even cared about rugby really. Sorry for the positive rant, and I am sorry for the loosing sides, but it was glorious!

Yeah...

Rugby isn't really popular here in the states so pretty much everything you said made absolutely no sense to me.

Nicely done!

I missed the games today. I'm not a massive rugby fan (football or soccer for you Americans is my preference) but I like to see England!

My school never taught rugby, and I never really watched it until I started uni last year, where, being in Wales, everyone watched it! I never got to grips totally with it, as I was brought up with American Football (my Dad loves American sports), and my school never taught rugby. I'm not sure who I should root for in the 6 nations though. I'm English, and my fiancée is Welsh. Also, I don't like Welsh rugby fans, purely because I've worked at Cardiff's busiest McDonalds on a rugby day...(cooked sooo many Big Macs...over 1500 an hour...:S hehe)

Being English I am an an England fan (I don't have Welsh family, so that's not an issue for me). I can't help but root for Ireland though; such a great style of play. I always pick a favorite in the 6 Nations.
