It's how I reset my phone.
Take the battery out count to 45 and put it back in. Or if the phone freezes, take it out and put it right back in. Also... phone batteries die pretty easily. I mean, the way I use a phone - and I assume most of you techies are the same - I'm only it in some form just about all day. Whether it's sending BBM messages, or AIM messages, or texting, or talking... and what happens in a year or two when the battery stops holding a charge? I live in the hamptons - no apple store here. So I have to send it in and be without a phone until they get it done? Finally, the lack of removeable battery means there's no possibility of putting in an extended-life battery. |

To be honest that just demonstrates to me how poorly made the Blackberry is. If it freezes up so often and you have to take the battery out thats not really a great user experience. I use my phone quite extensively, and a part from one phone about five years ago I've not had battery issues at all. The iPhone battery is, I imagine, the same as the iPod ones and I've not had issues with my iPod batteries either.

I've only tried an iPhone in O2 stores. I'd love one but right now I've got other things to spend the money on. I don't even need a PDA, if I had one I'm sure I could find a use for it but my Samsung E250 (£30 from Argos) is as far as I'm going on the phone front right now.

@AGurlNamedGoo - Ah, I see. I hardly use my phone in the first place (I only have 50 minutes/month and it's too expensive to go over) and it never freezes. The iPhone, on the other hand, probably will never freeze as long as you don't hack it. Not saying that hacking is bad, but it could potentially make the phone unstable.
@Tim - I really dislike that some companies get away with storing their expansion slots under the battery. That makes me think of the N-Gage - to change games, you had to do the same thing. Bad design on their part.

I think if you compare it to other phones then having a removable battery is very important. I have had to several times take the battery out of my mobile phone so that i can restart it. I would presume that iPhone has a similiar restart function as the 5G iPods though to overcome this problem?
Edit - WAs replying to things from page one so everything ive just said has already been covered. Sorry! Last edited by lucamacis; 04-21-2008 at 11:53 AM. Reason: not paying attention to page numbers! |
