Muse are awesome live. Saw them back in 2006 (blimey didn't realise it was that long ago!) during my last year at uni. They were incredible, turned me into a bit big fan.

Also, just to mention, I'm going to see Coldplay in December. Got the tickets minutes after they went on sale in the UK, can't wait.

Awesome! I would love to see Coldplay. Eagerly awaiting the release of their new album on iTunes on the 17th.

I'm with Lucamacis on this one. For Coldplay I will only ever by physical media and rip it to my Mac. I like to own the artwork of my favourite bands (it's the designer in me!) so I have to go to the shop and buy it.

I'm a big time fan of Jason Mraz. I've listened to samples of the new album, but haven't bought it yet. Did you buy the bonus track version? If so, what's bonus about the tracks? Is it worth it?

I also think the great thing about having a CD is that you will look back in 15 years or so and see your whole CD collection and it will be like what vinyls are now. A redundant format yet a sense of traditionalism with it. I cant wait for the day that everyone is downloading they're music and i still pop down to my local music store, or my rare CD store to get a CD. You listen to it on a HIFI rather than a computer. Thats what you get with Vinyls now. CD's will have that same effect not to long from now.

Plus the artwork does really rock on CD's :-D And lets not forget how this discussion started about NIN. They're physical CD changes colour after being used. You dont get that with digital downloads.

BUT.. NIN give you artwork too when you get their albums digitally, in PDF format :P

I haven't gone out and bought the CD version of Ghosts yet, i've seen it in the shops, but just haven't had the urge to get it... I'm REALLY hoping that billy corgan from smashing pumpkins, looks at how trent reznor have done things and uses the same concept to release their music as they're no longer on a contract now with a record company. They're releasing a new single in September, so i'm excited about that!

I wonder what it's going to look like years from now when music downloads go the way of vinyl and CDs? Will we keep old copies of iTunes around and reminisce about the good ole days when you could get a digital booklet with your album purchase? Will we deride the instant gratification generation that insists on having the music beamed directly to their neurons?

My vision of the future is that you pay a (small) monthly fee to have access to all the music in the world. You access this through a touch-screen or similar connected to your stereo. Imagine a large iphone-like screen in your living room, all the music of the world available.. Your favorites can be accessed in a coverflow based way, flipping through albums.. That would be sweet..

I think we will laugh at CDs..
