I'm at it again. For my Apple Showcase, I'm trying to recreate an Apple Sillhoutte iPod+iTunes Advertisement. I have done the greenscreening, I need to fill some blank spots, but my big problem is that I can't figure out how to get the wires coming from the iPod to th eadphones onto my Dancing people. I have the unfinished version uploaded to youtube here- YouTube - iPod ad, Unfinished
Suggestions? feedback? My showcase is July 10th, so i have a bit less than 2 weeks to redo things. -LegoShark |

You need to reshoot this in more of an Apple style. Apple does mostly full body shots, with an occasional close-up. The close-ups either highlight feet dancing or the iPod in the person's hand. Also light the screen and actor better to get a sharper key. Not being so close will also help the soft edges. I'm not sure how you can get the white iPod and earbuds in there. I'm not a Final Cut user, but in Photoshop I'd key out green and white and then do the levels adjustment or whatever you did. And fix the text at the end to an Apple font. Let us know when you've made adjustments and need another review.

A lot of the Apple ads are more middle-distance - you have the people very close to your camera, almost interacting with it. The Apple ad people are lost in the music and don't seem to play to the camera at all - part of that is angling of body and such (don't have your rapper guy lean to and look into the camera) and part is depth of frame. Move them back a little, move your green screen slightly further still, and shoot from lower down to get a little more distance.
Or that's my take, anyway.

Very accurate observation Raven. The people in Apple ads never look at the camera. Legoshark, make sure you fix that.

The user titles are based on Apple Retail Store job titles. See this thread for a brief discussion about it.

Just thought about something on your projects here LegoShark -
Are you trying to completely mimic the mac ads? Or are you planning to put your own spin on them?
