I have a Motorola V551 and am curious if there are any programs that allow me to use it as a remote control for my Mac via Bluetooth. All I really want to do is use it to go back or forward in iTunes. Salling Clicker and similar applications I've found won't work, so I post in hopes that someone knows of a program that does work.

Salling Clicker is the only one I know of. I do some research and let you know if I find anything.

BluePhoneElite allows you to see the caller ID of who's calling, and answer calls using the system's mic and speakers. It has nothing to do with controlling the system via bluetooth.

I guess the only control features are the proximity stuff where it will control the system when you enter range and leave range. I thought you could do more than that.

Address book has that feature built in. Unfortunately, some phones, such as the RAZR, do not work with that feature in Address Book. However they do work in BluePhoneElite. Because of this, we know it is possible for address book to retrieve call info from the RAZR. I am really hoping for RAZR support in Address Book in leopard, or possibly a hack. Just a note: RAZR does work with iSync, just not the special Caller ID features on Address Book.

I use BluePhone Elite and it is a wonderful piece of software. It does not, however, have speakerphone capability as of yet. So you cannot talk through the internal mic/speaker or a headset connected to the computer. However it is great for caller ID (integrated with address book), pausing iTunes when you answer (love that feature), and allows all of your text messages to be handled on your computer. The speakerphone feature will be added in version 2, which is not announced yet, so still a ways off.

If Address Book doesn't get full RAZR support in Leopard, I am buying BluePhoneElite v2 when it shows up.
