Hey everyone. I have been absent from the forums for a couple of days because of a nasty ice storm that hit the midwest (Missouri) over the last couple of days.
My house has been without power since Friday 8:00PM. Being that I have two kids I could not stay in the house without power so my family and I have been staying at the office I work at because it maintained power and internet pretty much through the whole ordeal. Power will most likely not be restored to my area until the end of the week. Not cool at all. Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up to my forum buddies here ![]() I hope everyone is doing well. Take care. |

Sorry to hear about that Shawn - glad to hear everyone is doing alright! Reminds me of the blackout a couple of years ago; I was over at a friends house when it happened, and it was the weirdest thing I had ever experienced.
In any case, hope that the power gets on pretty soon! It's funny how dependent we are on it though.

They may suck but they sure do make some purty pictures.

Maybe Oregon is just backwaters country, but when I was living there it was nothing, practically expected to go without power for a week at a time in the winter or throughout the year due to various storms. Everyone was just prepared for the inevitable, extra food in the house, gas heaters for backups, candles in the drawers, lots of people started getting generators. Likewise in our cars we'd carry blankets, food, clothes, flares, among other things.
And if our car ever got stuck in a snow storm in the middle of the woods without any idea where we were, we would never, never, never never ever leave our cars. |

Nice pictures mark. Sorry about the inconvenience to anyone who was in one of these. Here in the Garden State is freezing and windy, and there's ice on the ground, but no snow or flying ice. I hate this winter so far.
