The Matrix is so cliché dude, you gotta find something a little less widely used... Pitch Black or something.

Matrix is very cliche. Been interesting seeing what people call theirs or the processes they are going through when considering what to name them.

For the process of naming mine, I've usually just looked to characters I like in certain shows or whatnot. I'm not all that creative with naming, at least with coming up with my own names. That being said, I've very happy with the names my computers have now!

I m thinking of naming my mac and future mac the same names as the voices that come installed, like Vici, Bruce, Victoria, Fred, etc. The voices suite them, so i thought make it more characteristic. I m thinking of naming my MacBook Vici...

This is so interesting because I have been getting to know my MAC and trying to come up with a name that fits it. It takes me a while to tell if things are more female or male- yin yang types. I feel like my mac is more male becuase I feel more creative at night on it. But as to a name? I dunno- I named my husbans PC 'stupid' but maybe that was becasue he bought it before I knew him and I wasn't there to tell him not to. (HP PC's Suck)
So we will see- it is still up for the taking. I refer to it as 'freaken awesome' enough
I love the old city names and evangelion- Go anime!
I have thoought about characters in books and things, but nothing has fit. Hmmm.

I used to have my router, laptop, server, desktop and wireless ESSID all named after characters from the Big Lebowski, but I have run out of names unfortunately. So I need a new theme. At the moment I'm using different species of rodents as the name.

I named my computer and External HD with names of cities in different countries. My Mac is Marrakech. One of my HD is Tolochenaz. At work we name all the machines like that since we have facilities all over the world some of the names we use are Shangai, Tempe, San Juan, San Paolo, Caracas, etc.

I don't name my Macs, but I did name my hard drive "Josh's Brilliance." Cool, eh?
