Ok, so i got a new battery... still doesnt charge, still shows a black x on my screen, what am i doing wrong

My only suggestion would be to take it to an Apple store or an AASP and get a genius to take a look. If you've followed all of the steps in that guide I posted, it probably signifies a greater problem.

I agree. It sounds like the problem is more serious than just the battery itself, I am thinking that if this is appearing on more than one battery then it is the wiring between the battery connectors, and the part of the mac that registers the battery as faulty.

Get it into a store ASAP.

yeah its wierd it charges ad stays charged for a little bitm but the machine cant read the batery and it doesnt charge all the way

This could well be a loose or faulty battery connector. Some of the older MacBooks don't have connector braces, so that could well be it. I'd suggest getting it looked at also; could well be a quick and cheap fix.
