Congrats! I know that feeling of relief. When my primary hard drive failed (before I was using Time Machine), I was totally distraught. It took two days of efforts (full - stressed out days) with Disk Warrior to recover my data to a new hard drive. That first time I got a good start up again, with my familiar system prefs . . . . Oh the smile that came over my face. I am now the number one fan of frequent back-ups and Time Machine.

It sure is nice to see the log-in come up after that dramatic pause from the Apple Chime isn't it. More suspenseful than the best Hitchcock film. Glad you got it working again.

You know the first thought I had after I did it was "It wouldn't have happened with a MacBook!".

I'm glad it's all working, fortunately my iBook isn't my primary Mac but I like having it around for lounge surfing. I'd really like a new laptop (MBP please!! or an Air!) but until it's necessary to upgrade it won't happen.
