I completely Jinxed myself being part of this thread. My connection has been on and off for the past hour here. The annoying thing is that now im connected with almost full reception and high speed downloads! Though i cant complain much. My connection was a lot worse when leopard was first released

So it turns out the permissions repair didn't fix things. I've spent some of this evening trying to solve the problem. An Archive & Install didn't fix the issue so I ran an extended hardware test and it found an error. This is the number:

4VDC/2/40000002: 0x7ee9ef90

I'm guessing this maybe something with the AirPort or Logic Board? The normal hardware test didn't find anything, but I wasn't convinced and ran the extended which showed this error. I'm guessing I need to go to an Apple store.

I went to an Apple Store in Lakeside, London and they we're bloody useless. I told them about my problems when i was running 10.5.1 and they just blamed my extra applications because they wernt Leopard compatible. (which they definitely were by the way)

If you do find a solution to the problem or if your apple store is more help could you please let me know?

I'll let you know. I've not been able to make it to an Apple store yet. The closest isn't very easy to get to for me, but hopefully soon.

Just wanted to give you all another update. A couple of days ago my iBook started behaving like the iMac, it wouldn't connect to the network. I figured it had to be the router or similar since both were doing it. I've now got my Airport Express broadcasting the WiFi in our house and the iMac is back online. I've not had an issue with re-connection from either sleep or a cold start. It all seems to be working well.

Glad you resolved it. Just curious: what brand is your router?

It's a Sky branded router, I'm not use who made it but I have a feeling it is a Netgear under all the Sky dressing.

My router is also a Netgear just with sky written on it. Maybe it's a little problem with the connection betwen the Sky router and AEBS (I use the sky router as a modem)

I didn't have the Airpot Extreme broadcasting previously, I was using the built in Wireless of the Sky modem/router. I'm not convinced it's fully fixed, but at least I can use the iMac online now.
