6GB is near impossible to use. This means essentially unlimited data for U.S. prices, although you do have to tie into a long contract.

The 6 GB increase in data is definitely a step forward in the right direction and I'm pleased it happened. But what about the laughable amount of minutes that we get (for $60 - the cheapest plan - we get 150 compared to AT&Ts 400). And, as BBB mentioned, it's 3 year contract. I'm just at the tail end of a 3 year contract with Rogers and let me tell you, 3 years is a long time with technology.

Nice try, Rogers, but try a little harder.

Thanks for pointing this out Phil, I'd have probably missed it.

I hadn't realised your contracts were for 3 years. That's nuts. I understand the indignation a lot more now. 18 months is bad enough, but at least it allows for upgrading to fairly current technology. I don't know why they don't just call it unlimited, 6GB is crazy big.

Rogers wants to make sure you know who's boss

Also, talking about usage. John Gruber posted that he used 242mb of data over EDGE last billing period (which I assume is monthly). He mentions that he "almost never" loads video or audio over EDGE, so that's not inflating this number. Add in the faster loading times of 3G networking and you're way over the original limit of 400mb. Just sayin'.
