Right, well I'm 19, and I'm a student at the University of Glamorgan in South Wales where I study Live Event Technology. That's like sound, light and staging for concerts, gigs, theatre and the like. It's great fun, and it's nice to work on something that I've always had a passion for.

Prior to starting university, I went to Walsall College of Art and Technology, where I studied Media: Communication and Production. This is where my love affair with the Mac started. I'd never really known much about the Macintosh until I sat down at one of the edit suites (a G5 PowerMac, not too shabby), and remember being impressed with how intuitive this "new" way of computing was. This was around the time that iTunes came both to Windows, and to the UK as a music retailer, and I was quick to embrace this new way of obtaining music.

This led, as I suppose is inevitable, to my first iPod. It was one of the U2 special edition iPod G4s, and I loved it to bits. I still have it, though it sits safely in my room at home nowadays.

Less than a month later, I was browsing ebay, and was impressed to find how cheap the iMac G3s could be bought for. I cajoled Dad into lending me some money, and I ordered one. This was great, I had my first Mac, and for a computer that was some six years old, it was in great condition. I'm not ashamed to say that I <3 Bondi Blue!

The next Mac I bought was my MacBook. It's a good workhorse, and even though many applications won't support it on paper (EVE Online, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, World of Warcraft, Final Cut Express), it does everything I need to beautifully.

I've even used it to edit music videos. Proper ones, from a multi-camera shoot some two years ago. (See it here)

I like to keep up to date with Apple news. Geeky as it makes me sound, it's a brand that's comfortable to my lifestyle. I love that I can buy any song (near enough) at any time of the day or night, I love that my iPod talks perfectly to my computer, I love the ease of their networking.

I'm glad to see the Mac's on the rise!

Welcome to the TAB forums, iPodmanTime! Hope you enjoy your stay!

That was a really great story indeed! I'm actually surprised that your MacBook has been able to do all of that stuff. Does it run all of those pro apps and games very well?

It runs Final Cut really well, same for Livetype and Soundtrack. World of Warcraft also runs excellently, the main constraint on that is hard drive capacity though, so I have it installed on both of my external hard drives.
