Well, I finally got to the right site to at least watch others ask questions, and try to understand how this new Apple desktop works. I do love it but it's frustrating when I had been so used to a PC for so long and then hubby changes me to a Mac, which he works on at work. Well he's been trained extensively and works in Photoshop, Illustrator, bridge, freehand, to name a few of the main programs, but I can only open a photo in P.S. then adjust the exposure, and make it smaller for e-mailing. I am just now learning word, since our last PC just came with Microsoft Works.
I've copied the key commands to learn them using my cheat sheet, but cannot understand how to use my numbered keys at right of keyboard, when I do sometimes it locks up computer ![]() So, just want to say hi, and I'm so glad to be here!!! ![]() Kat |

Welcome to the TAB forums, Kat! Hope you enjoy your stay!
Hmm... the number pad locking up the entire computer? That sounds very strange indeed. I can't really comment though, since I don't have a full sized keyboard hooked up to my Mac (just use the MacBook keyboard). Hope you continue to learn the ins and outs of Mac OS X and really start enjoying it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Kat,
Not sure about the number thing. Get hubby to show you how to use iPhoto to do your image editing, it's way easier than Photoshop. Also, if your operating sytem is Leopard and you are using Apple Mail, you can resize and send photos that are in iPhoto right from Mail itself, super easy. Also, if you have an Apple Store nearby try the One to One teaching sessions. I bought them for my wife and she has really learned a lot (she says I have no patience to teach her). |

Welcome to Mac and TAB! As guitartech said, it is easy to use iPhoto for resizing photos. Also, from within iPhoto, you can choose PS as your default editor when you double click a photo if you want, the changes are saved back in to iPhoto when you are done. I use iPhoto for basic adjustments, such as straighten or crop by double clicking the photo. I use PS for most other work by right clicking the photo, which gives you a drop down menu with an "edit in external editor" option.
This is a great place to come with questions, and it is loaded with people eager for you to have a great Mac experience. Enjoy!
