So I was paring my ridiculously long list of podcasts down to exactly 20 this fine evening and I noticed that while the TAB Screencasts feed does not produce an error when being checked in iTunes, every episode individually shows an error. I take this to mean that iTunes is finding the feed's file but not the enclosures.
The feed I am referring to is The Apple Blog ยป Screencasts This seems to be accompanied by a lapse in screencast-making. So what's up, TAB people? Should I delete this feed as well, or is this just an oversight? Last edited by mdmunoz; 09-08-2007 at 04:07 AM. |

I'm getting the same error, it looks like the files are no longer on the server. The itunes feed points to a CacheFly server which I guess is no longer there. The files in the feed you pointed to are on The Apple Blog's servers. I'm not sure why, when subscribing to the same feed iTunes thinks the file is one place and FeedBurner says it's in another. I guess that explains why the feed is getting errors but not the lapse in production. I'm sure it's the same reason why this forum has not been getting many posts this summer, people have other things they would rather be doing on a beautiful day than sitting in front of a computer. Hopefully when Leopard comes out there will be much more to screencast.

That's really weird. If you access the TAB Screencast page directly, you can get the videos just fine...but the auto-download when you actually subscribe is all jacked up with the wrong URLs.
Hmmmmmmmm. Investigating now.

Okay, so I think I found the issue. We were including both a .mov and .m4v format with each post. Having 2 video formats doesn't seem to make iTunes happy.
I've made some updates and it might take a day or so for Feedburner and iTunes to load the new settings, but hopefully this should fix things.
